Blackpool Review & Player Ratings....Stan Kroenke Takes Over!

Black Pool!

Just what the doctor orderd for us a breeze at the sea side..a solid game. Not perfect, not great but solid! We controlled the game throughout got quite jittery after they scored (for a short while)then got back to biz. I'd like to point out a few things before I get to the player ratings.
1. This was our first league win without Alexander 'Oh Sing My' Song Bilong! This shows you how vital he is. That being said Diaby had a great game,he tracked back well set up a platform for Jack and Cesc to play on (ask me what that means later.)
2. Jens Lehman made his 200th appearance for the Arsenal, after being out for  three  years. At 41 he clearly showed us that he is head shoulder, knees and toes above hapless Almunia. He commanded his back line perfectly,I think this is the best we've had from the french backline this season.
3. El'Capitan made his 300th appearance for The Arsenal..and what an appearance it was..should have been capped with a goal but it was a cracker! This is the Cesc we know..behind every move chips, flicks, lobs audacious passes that only he can make! Let's hope he keeps this form up for the next 7 games.
4. The in form man Scored his 12th goal and made his 6th assist in the league from 18 apps. For me he is the hottest striker in this league right now. Without the injury woes he should be one of the the best stikers in the world!!
5. Arsenal continue their unbeaten run in 2011..

Ratings.

Her's how I'll be doing my ratings. Most of you are used to a 1-10 scale...well.... Remember your high school grading system? yeah. With A being the highest and E the lowest..in short A,A-,B+,B,B-,C+...BLAH BLAH BLAH..(I said in short remember?) So here goes.

Jens Lehman : B+
How happy I was to hear that he would be starting more so that aluminium was out,not mentioning that he may never play for us ever again (unless he pulls a Lehman)
He did not have much to do..but commanded the back line perfectly. He was great at set pieces. Apart from the challenge on Dj (which waqs a yellow card offence) and the goal he was almost faultless.

Emmanuel Eboue : B

I like Eboue..no scrap that I love Eboue (No homo) for one main reason,he's not the most talented player we have, but whenever he steps onto that pitch he gives it 1000%. He loves the club genuinely and you feel he has a special connection with every player. He's a special one this one!
On the day,he was great going foward with a goal to show for it,a bit shaky on defence but a good performance.
 Laurent Koscielny : B-
Was our shakiest defender on the day, lost concentration and his man a number of times. Very dangerous tackle,on of which I closed my eyes thinking that the Ref had blown for a penalty. But not too bad of a performance.
Sebastien Sqiullaci : B
Solid from the old head, maybe it was because it felt good not to be the oldest on the field for once. Highlight for me would be the tackle that he made to set up the 3rd goal. Not only because it led to a goal but it was a great last ditch tackle.
Gael Clichy : C+
Not so much of a bad game, but was guilty of losing possesion especially that one to  Gary Taylor-Fletcher,where Jens dealt with it one on one! Could have done better,I know I said that Kosc was our weakest link..I forgot to say Clichy was his main threat to the title!
Abou Diaby : B+
Contender for man of the match..held the ball perfectly, dribbled past men like they were not there. Scored a goal from a move he started, not mentioning the run. He was involved in our build up,and as I said set up the platform for Cesc and Jack to play (again ask me later!). He lost the ball a few times but tracked back and got it.
Jack Wilshere : B
With the lack of Song,Jack had to be the one doing the dirty work, though I've said that it was Abou who set the platform,it was a collabo of sorts. Diaby is not the best defensively..hence Jack had to cover up. Also had an assist.
Cesc Fabregas : A-
300th appearance,he made it count. Created chance after chance..pass after sublime pass..did his work defensively. In the perfect scenario he should have scored..I think it's safe to say El Capinate is back! MoTM
Samir Nasri : B
Quiet game for Nasri..had a few shots on goal, denied by the bar. He had a very silent one by his standard and indeed most of ours too.
Robin Van Persie : B+
He's having fun out there, you can tell! Creating,scoring..had many chances and had to score really!
Andrey Arsahvin : B-
If Nasri had a quiet game..his was dumb and deaf..did good defensively. Tracked back..but again the little russian was off on the day.
Theo Walcott : B+
What a call by Mzee..bringing F1 piki piki when it was 2-1,and what an impact he made! Ran at defenders at will..what with Cesc in the mood he was..he had to flourish Just look at the third goal for confirmation.
Kieran Gibbs & Aaron Ramsey : Did not have much to do so will not be graded. Interesting that Prof is trying Gibbs at Left Mid field..maybe it was just defensive..but what a combination Clichy& Gibbs would make. Always good to see Rambo play!

Up next Liverpool..lets keep the intensity, solidify the back a bit and we'll be good!Point to note..Djorou and Woijech should be fit for this one.

The Take Over.

The man...

Well you have to know by now..if you don't..here it is.

“It is a hugely significant day in the history of Arsenal Football Club. Stan Kroenke has agreed to purchase the shares of Danny Fiszman and Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith for £11,750 per share, bringing his overall share holding to 62.89%. In accordance with stock market rules he will offer £11,750 for the remaining shares, but that doesn’t mean those shareholders have to sell.”

Basically Stan Kroenke has taken over Arsenal through his company Kroenke Sports Enterprises. Depending on how Mr. Usmanov and his Red and White Holdings react. They should sell given that they stand to make a profit from the 11,750 price per share. Also as it is very clear that he will not be offered a seat on the board.
If he does sell then 'Silent Stan' will up his stake to close to 90%..that would then lead to private ownership.
It's really alot of business hoola baloo and club politics that if I get into I might dose off typing. All you have to know is Kroenke is the man at arsenal..here are what some of the stake holders had to say!

Stan kroenke & Peter Hill-wood
Chairman Peter Hill-Wood:
Mr Kroenke, although relatively new to Arsenal, has shown himself to be a man who values and respects the history and traditions of this very special club that we cherish.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger:(He's not a stake holder!)
I have worked with Stan Kroenke at board meetings over the past couple of years and I believe he has the best interests of Arsenal at heart. He understands the club's heritage and traditions and our ambition to run the club in a way which protects our long-term future.

New majority stakeholder Stan Kroenke:
We are excited about the opportunity to increase our involvement with and commitment to Arsenal. Arsenal is a fantastic club with a special history and tradition and a wonderful manager in Arsene Wenger. We intend to build on this rich heritage and take the club to new success.
This is good news..I hope,it has to be. There's a general positive vibe to this take over..With his track record and being a board member since 2009(is it?) he should be able to continue running things smoothly. I mean it's not like we are drowning in debt and need help. We are almost paying off our stadium loan..making profits,we are stable. He might not even need to pump in any cash. Word has it that he will buy us off from the Emirates sponsorship deal which we don't make that much from...compared to other top clubs!
So who is he? I'll give you abit of his back ground, nothing personal..am no paparazzi but I hear his wife's family own Wal-Mart.
Forbes magazine listed him last year as worth $2.9 billion,he made most of his money from Real estate. He owns Denver Nuggets (NBA), Colorado Avalanche (NHL), St Louis Rams (NFL) and Colorado Rapids (MLS). Also owns venues, regional sports TV channel and a ticketing company.
That's about it fellow WanaBUNDUKI..Have a great week ahead and keep loading those canons!!
